A coded memo from the desk of Newton Zemke, Public Relations for The Keepers of the Veil: Benjamin, I understand your frustrations, and in many cases, share them. But your orders are your orders. I don’t see anyone with a better sense of presence, and I need you in the quarantine zone. You are our face, right now, and we need people to know we are working to return their lives to normal. We’ve done our best to keep the city guard out, taking resources from them to present a strong front. I can give you what you need, but I need you there. I’d be there myself, but the ruling council seems to think my skills are better suited here, at the Indeliophan, despite my own misgivings about that.

You’d think fighting a monster from outside of reality would be the worst thing you have to do with your day, but as the team explores the temple, things get... well... worse.

Luume Ep. 52 Your Eyes Did A Thing

I know you don’t agree Elizbet, but this has to happen. With what will be coming through, this is our best chance to see what he’ll do. Here we can control the circumstances, like any good experiment. We need to know what our boy will do when he comes face to face with the truth. This will be small. Something we can handle if he decides he’s no longer liking the deal. It will be on you to convince him otherwise Elizbet. You’ve done a wonderful job of keeping him focused. Keeping him working and keeping him and his group isolated at this most crucial time. They have such potential to sow discord, it would be a shame if we let them undo that.

As threats in the sewers push in from all sides, the team has to put aside differences to make it out. Also, Corra hears a tune, Seshmire gets pulled along, and Tseer meets an old friend.

Luume Ep. 51 Sewer Gelato

I don’t care what she says. The current strategy of letting those damn metal whatevers and the cops take over the protection of the city, while we try and take back eastside, is not going to work. I mean, have you looked outside, Lashell? This is worse than when we succeeded. Between that and loosing boots on the ground to trying to find this temple, or whatever she thinks it is, we are losing our grip on what is important. Hell, that isn’t even taking into account whatever is cause these Feywild portals. I know we are in a shit place here, Lashell, and it’s not like we can talk to Lincoln about it. I just don’t want to watch the world crumble while we chase phantoms.

The team dives under the city to try and find a threat left over from the latest Feywild bubble. The monsters, though, may not be the biggest threat to the team.

Luume Ep. 50 Three More Months Pt. 2

It’s been so long since the world felt like this: balanced on the edge or maybe even already falling. Last time, they did what they thought necessary. They left me… lost. I don’t blame them for that. They had no choice, but they forgot me, after. They let me be forgotten. I barely held on to the barest idea of myself, while they let my name fade. Now, I’ll save the world, again, and teach it the memories it lost.

The weight of the outside world begins to press down. The team faces threats, both mortal and fantastical. This is impressive, since they are doing their best not to talk to each other.

Luume Ep. 49 Three More Months Pt. 1

Been a while since the world felt like this. Like it’s edge just teetering there. Last time we all stepped up, cause we was the one who could, the ones that had to. Now we can’t help, not like we want to, and have to put our faith in mortals. Hope that t...

Been a while since the world felt like this. Like it’s edge just teetering there. Last time we all stepped up, cause we was the one who could, the ones that had to. Now we can’t help, not like we want to, and have to put our faith in mortals. Hope that them few folks that we picked can shoulder the burden and weather storm, cause a hell of a storm is coming and when it passes I’m afraid of what will be left behind.

New players enter the game. Some with good intentions and some other ideas. The team has to take on new friends and new foes while trying to figure themselves out.

We interrupt this broadcast with an Exalink Special Bulletin. Chaos has enveloped the city. What started as a outpouring of dissatisfaction with the response of the Guilds to the extra-planar threats has erupted into full blown riots. While the crowds seem to be centered in front of the offices of Elder Tower, different pockets have been springing up across the city as the night wears on. One moment, one moment, really? Yes, ok, I am getting reports that the the head of Elder Tower as well as all of the Guild’s senior officials have been found murdered. Killed in a...What do you ,mean? We can’t shut down, I’m in the middle of a report. How is anyone supposed to know that….

Sometimes, when something is too broken, you simply have to scrap it and start fresh, no matter the cost.

Luume Ep. 47 Kingdom pt. 3: The Fuse

Hello and thank you tuning in to the Exalink nightly news. Coming up, our headlines. But first a word from our sponsor: Elder Tower and their Golden Brew sun tea maker. Remember, anytime is a good time for sun tea. Our main story tonight: The planar incursions from the Feywild still continue. Though they have not begun manifesting west of the river, officials have been meeting to address the problem. In related news, civil unrest east of the river still continues to rise, as The Sands party is projected to sweep the available seats in the next election. What kind of effect could this have on the relationship between the Guilds and parliament? We’ll explore that next, but first, Karen with the weather. Karen?

The movers and the shakers of the city gather to try and right the ship, but as water keeps filling it, are they up to bailing it out fast enough?

So, they are already in the facility? Good. Move to Mr. Slayton’s house and recover Seifuku, Elizabet. I think we are going to get a good amount of use from him in the future. I’m starting to get excited about this. We are finally going to pull a piece of the little house of cards she’s built. I have been watching her meticulously place every little bit of it just so for almost a century, and just the thought of watching it all fall around her is simply wonderful. She thought those elves could help her. Banked on complacency. Steeled herself against a big move. But all I needed was a handful of people and to put a crack in the foundation for them to hit.

The team has fought through kidnappings, monsters, schemes, and doppelgangers. Now, they are finishing the fight with Stanton Slayton, but can they hold it together?

Luume Ep. 45 Love Does Bad Things To People

You don’t understand... I know that the rock was whispering in my ear, but I could feel what it was saying was true. I could see it in my dreams. An end to everything we have ever known. Yes, I did things well beyond the limits that were in place. But to save the world? I would do it again in a heartbeat. Hell, I’d go further, push harder, if I had the time. I would rather be remembered as a monster in a world that still exists than go quietly into the void. Are you prepared to do that? Do you think you have what it takes to do it without me? Or are you going to come back, when the world is burning and being swallowed by nothing, and beg me to take it from you? Don’t walk away from me, Wyatt. You have to understand, WYATT. YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND!

This week the team finally comes face to face with the man who has caused so much pain in the lives of so many. Stanton has tricks, though, and as the battle kicks off, new and interesting players are added.

Luume Ep. 44 Mondays Am I Right?

And that’s all you have to report? Well, damn. I knew those little insects would come for me again. I just didn’t think they’d hit me back this soon. If you’re right, though, they don’t know about this facility, yet… But who knows what they spent all wee...

And that’s all you have to report? Well, damn. I knew those little insects would come for me again. I just didn’t think they’d hit me back this soon. If you’re right, though, they don’t know about this facility, yet… But who knows what they spent all weekend doing. Oh well. Time to harden our defenses. We were lucky to get you out. I paid a small fortune to make sure no one remembered you at the other facility. It was worth it, though. It’s amazing what better results I get out of you than I could your predecessor. A solid upgrade. When, or if, they get here, they won’t be ready for you or the... donations Jimmy gave me. Since it got shipped here, we will ready Subject Seventeen, as well.

This week, we find the team diving deep into Stanton’s facility. As they begin to uncover the secrets of the facility, the horrors of its work come into view.
